Designing Your Next Chapter After Life Falls Apart: A 3-Step Framework

Laura Mangum Broome welcomes listeners to the Flourishing After Adversity podcast for women facing grief, illness, loss, or unexpected change, and shares a free guide, “Reframe the Spiral.” Using the metaphor of rebuilding after a building is destroyed, she explains that time alone doesn’t rebuild identity—intentional reinvention does—and contrasts “drifting” through life with “designing” it.

She teaches a three-step framework: (1) choose the three life areas that matter most right now and write why they matter in this season; (2) envision a fulfilling next chapter through four grounding questions about an ordinary morning, what you look forward to, what feels meaningful/enjoyable/worthwhile, and what makes life feel like yours again; (3) for each area, define what you want more of, less of, and what a fulfilling version looks like. She ends with a simple writing exercise, a recap, and invites listeners to her Begin Again workshop and iCope2Hope.com.
