Name the Loss, Release Its Grip: 6 Steps to Rebuild After Life Changes

Host Laura Mangum Broome explains that many women can name the event of a setback (divorce, diagnosis, empty nest, retirement) but not the deeper loss of identity, purpose, and the future they expected, which keeps them feeling stuck.

Drawing on her experiences of losing her son, breast cancer, a heart transplant, and divorce, she offers six action-oriented steps: to name the loss—get radically specific about what was lost, acknowledge the identity shift, and say it out loud using “I” language—and to release its hold—separate what changed from what still remains, identify one way the loss is influencing current decisions, and take one small concrete step toward what’s next.

She highlights a free guide on reframing negative thought spirals and invites listeners to her Begin Again Workshop, plus sharing the episode, leaving a review, and connecting at iCope2Hope.com.
